Notre-Dame-du-Nord is located in the northwest of the MRC of Témiscamingue. Its limits are the municipality of St-Bruno-de-Guigues to the south, Nédélec to the north, Ontario province to the west and the towns of Guérin (northeast) and St-Eugène-de-Guigues (southeast). An Indian reserve (Timiskaming) is located just north of town. Located at an important crossroad, Notre-Dame-du-Nord is an access point between Témiscamingue, northeastern Ontario and Abitibi. The main access roads are 101 in Québec and 65 in Ontario. Notre-Dame-du-Nord benefits from an attractive geographical situation since it is at equal distance from the main Ontario and Québec urban centers (Ottawa, Toronto, Montréal, Québec City) and is not too far from the United States. Notre-Dame-du-Nord reaches 30 000 people within 40 kilometers. The town is just 500 metres from the Ontario border. |
