Notre-Dame-du-Nord calebrated its 100th anniversary in 1996. And since the coming of the first resident missionnary in 1896 at the beginning of the settlement, numerous events have left their mark on the inhabitatns of the municipality. From the start, the history of the community was one of relationship between different ethnic groups : the Algonquins, the French-Canadians and the English-Canadians from both scotish and irish origins. Along the years, the parrish grows and develops. A presbytary is built in 1921 and the church in 1922. Both were spared by the Great Fire of 1922.
