A public promenade was laid out on the shore of the Rivière-des-Quinze, providing a moment for resting and a beautiful scenery.
Managed by the Témis Nautical Club of Notre-Dame-du-Nord, the Marina Tête-du-Lac is a full service marina offering fuel, dump, deck location, electricity and water. The Lake Timiskaming (Algonkin name meaning "Deep waters") is a very imposing lake with its 124 km of lenght and its depth averaging 300 to 400 feet, and reaching 700 feet in some places. In the Notre-Dame-du-Nord area, the depth is much less and a well marked channel (20 feet deep) shows the way for boating. The Timiskaming and Ottawa River Waterway is an impressing network of bypasses around dams and rapids on Ottawa river and Lake Timiskaming . Boaters can now sail from Notre-Dame-du-Nord (Qc) and New-Liskeard (On) all the way to Arnprior (On) 468 km down. By
navigating down the Waterway on these magnificient and history laden
waters, you can use marinas with a broad range of services all along
the way. Comfortable and friendly quality lodging and restaurants, shopping
and much more, is available on both the Québec and Ontario sides.
During the boating season, you can participate in a variety of activities
and visit numerous attractions in the riverside towns and cities.
